Studying the linguistic features of animal idioms in Vietnamese and similes English is an interesting field. Comparative idioms are a crucial part of language, allowing speakers to express meanings concisely and vividly. The characteristics of animal idioms not only reveal culture but also reflect but also reflect the way that how human use language to express comparison, analysis, and description of the surrounding world. Due to the limitations of this research, we will only analyse the semantic features and structural characteristics of comparative idioms in Vietnamese and similes English and their applications in teaching and learning English in Vietnam. In this study, we attempt to state the similarities and differences of animal idioms in both English and Vietnamese in terms of structure and semantics as well as identify some difficulties arising particularly from the differences between English and Vietnamese.
