Achoimre:This thesis was carried out to investigate the stylistic devices commonly used in ―Cho T i Xin M t V i Tuổi Th ‖ by Nguy n Nh t nh and their English translational equivalent in ―Ticket To Childhood‖ by William Naythons. The data of the study was collected in ―Cho T i Xin M t V i Tuổi Th ‖ and its English translation version – ―Ticket To Childhood‖. The qualitative and quantitative approaches were exploited so as to help the researcher achieve the aims and objectives proposed. This thesis found that there are three SDs commonly used in ―Cho T i Xin M t V i Tuổi Th ‖ :simile, hyperbole and antithesis and there are many translation procedures for them. Among which, literal translation is the most used procedures for translating simile, hyperbole and antithesis as well. Besides literal translation, some procedures such as reduction and paraphrase are quite commonly-used in translation. Furthermore, basing on the findings and results of this study, some implications and suggestions were offered in the hope that they can partly contribute to language teaching, learning, and translating.
