When approaching an English text passage, students use self-regulated writing strategies (SRWS) to better write a text. These strategies differ in the students because experienced students know the writing process better than beginners. The aim of the present study was to identify the beliefs about writing self-efficacy (BWSE) of English-majored students at Dalat University, to explore their use of SRWS to improve their writing skills as well as to find out the relationships between English-majored students’ BWSE and their use of SRWS. The participants were 179 senior English- majored students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the University of Dalat. The data were gathered by mean, standard deviation and frequency of BWSE questionnaire, SRWS questionnaire and in-depth interviews. Particularly, senior English-majored students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the University of Dalat had a much higher level of writing self-efficacy beliefs. Admittedly, they seemed more confident in their daily life than in writing classes. Moreover, the results of Pearson correlation tests showed that there was significant relationship between BWSE and SRWS as well as among their components. The results have some implications for teachers, students and curriculum developers. 2023-08-17T07:39:03Z 2023-08-17T07:39:03Z 2019 Thesis https://scholar.dlu.edu.vn/thuvienso/handle/DLU123456789/116276 en application/pdf Hochiminh City University of Technology
